With a normal level of more than 52,000 acres of water and 1,225 miles of shoreline, Lake Cumberland is considered one of the finest fishing and boating areas in the Eastern United States. Even at its current reduced level, it remains the thrid largest lake in Kentucky. Perched high above this watery expanse, the park offers visitors a wide array of recreational opportunities, from tennis to trails. New for 2007 is the 18-hole disk golf course. Plenty to do at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park both on and off the lake.

Lake Cumberland State Resort Park is located in Russell County KY, south of Jamestown, on the northwestern edge of Lake Cumberland.

Lake Cumberland has an abundance of largemouth, smallmouth, white and Kentucky bass, bluegill, crappie, rockfish, and walleye. State Dock offers both open and covered slips up to 100' long with rental fishing boats, pontoon boats, houseboats, and ski boats. The 18-hole miniature golf course is perfect for family fun, April-November and the new disk golf course is available all year. A four-mile loop trail around the Lure Lodge area and a 1.5-mile one-way trail (3 miles total including return) let hikers enjoy the forest. Guided horseback trail rides depart every hour, and tennis and shuffleboard courts ensure that no visitor will ever get bored here. Interpretive programs on native plants, animals, and local history are conducted at various times throughout the year by a full-time naturalist, and daily summer activities are conducted by recreation staff.

The Rowena Landing Restaurant and a gift shop can be found in Lure Lodge. With construction beginning on a new Conference Center beginning in the summer of 2007, meeting space is somewhat limited but still available for smaller groups at both Lure Lodge and Pumpkin Creek Lodge. The 63-room Lure Lodge overlooks beautiful Lake Cumberland and Pumpkin Creek Lodge offers 13 rooms. Thirty cottages, including Wildwood cottages featuring fireplaces, round out the available accommodations. A picnic shelter is available for rent and includes tables, grills, and restrooms. Picnic areas are scattered throughout the park.

Kentucky Campground sites can be occupied by a maximum of 8 occupants. 4 adults, 17 years old and above and minor children are included in the base price. If more than 4 adults are going to be on the site, an additional $5.00 per night per adult will be collected upon arrival at the park.

Quiet hour begins at 11pm (Central). Check-out time is 1:00pm (Central) on the day the permit expires.

Electricity pedestals are almost all shared between two sites. On those with both 30A and 50A service, generally the larger site is assigned the larger capacity, however, the possibility of cross-over exists.
