The Kentucky Horse Park is an equine theme park and competition facility celebrating mankinds relationship with the horse. Set on more than 1,200 acres in the heart of Kentucky's famous Bluegrass region the horse park offers daily programs and presentations as well as one of the most comprehensive schedule of equestrian events in the country.Geography:

The Kentucky Horse Park’s equine theme park is open for its main season April-October, Wednesday-Sunday, 9am – 5pm. Recreation:
During the Kentucky Horse Park’s Main Season, April-October, visitors can enjoy live equine presentations which include the Hall of Champions Show, Parade of Breeds, and the Big Barn Stall-Side Chat. A horse drawn trolley takes guests on a short 10-minute ride to discuss the history of the park with guests. The International Museum of the Horse, the largest of its kind in the world, and The American Saddlebred Museum are also included with admission. Children's pony rides and horseback trail rides take visitors through some of the Park’s paddocks and can be purchased with or without admission to the Park. Plan your visit at kyhorsepark.com.
Facilities:
One of Kentucky's finest resort campgrounds, the Kentucky Horse Park Campground has 260 campsites with electrical and water hookups, paved pads, fire rings, and picnic tables. A full-service facility, the campground has a grocery store and gift shop, two bathhouses with modern conveniences, laundromats, and two dump stations. Lighted tennis and basketball courts, a swimming pool, and playgrounds are just a few of the recreation choices.
All sites have water and 20, 30, and 50 amp electric services. We also have two bathhouses, two dump stations, two laundry facilities, tennis courts, volleyball courts and basketball courts, a playground and a junior Olympic size swimming pool.
The KY Horse Park Campground does not have water at the sites from mid-November to mid-March due to freezing temperatures.

Kentucky Horse Park Campground sites can be occupied by 5 occupants. Adults and children 16 and under are included in the base rate. Each additional camper is $2 per night with a maximum occupancy of 8 campers per site.
**Parks prohibits the importation of firewood by campers from any state outside of Kentucky. This is in effort to help prevent the introduction of the Emerald Ash Borer into the state. Firewood is available for sale in the state park campgrounds.**

The horse park administration made a decision that all premium demand periods will now have a five night minimum effective 2016. All updated rates and premium demand week information is available on the website (kyhorsepark.com)
There is no water on any site from November 16 through March 14 each year.
Our office closes at 8:00pm and does not re-open until 8:00am the next day. If you should arrive after office hours you can complete a registration envelope located on the front of the office,or you can register in our office the next day. Gates never close at the park. We have 24-hour police patrol seven days a week.
